Tie rod flip bushings for Mk1/Mk2/Mk3
Tie rod flip bushings for Mk1/Mk2/Mk3
The bushings are used to "Flip" your tie rod end.
Made from super tough steel grade 45 (see international analogue steel grades).
Simply drill the hole out to 17.5mm (0.69") and then press in the bushing to flip tie rod.
Pressing in the bushings is much easier with hydraulic press or using the vise.
The flanged nuts with are included into the set.
The bushings are treated with carbonitriding, which provides a hard and wear resistant surface.
This is used to correct steering geometry and bump-steer in lowered cars, or to get more tie rod clearance. On lowered cars the outer tie rods sit higher than the pitman arm on the steering box (inner tie rods). Using this bushings you can relocate the outer arms and insert the tie rod spindle from below, rather than above.
Tie rods fitted from below will insure proper steering with right tie rod arm angle.
The item is sold in pairs.
